Dmitri and his troupe of actors are busy performing as Santa Claus and friends at children's parties and events all over Moscow on their busiest day of the year, when the lonely child Alesha (Pavel Melenchuk, nine or so, in his first major role) asks Santa to 'bring me a dad for New Year's'.
The troupe ends up taking Lesha with them to the rest of their gigs, all the while trying to find his mother and get him home.
Set on New Year's eve - which seems to be when Santa appears in Russia - Christmas trees and New Years skits, cold weather and snow falling should help cool off a hot summer night right about now.
Not just for Pavel's fans, this is a decent, very Russian, comedy-with-a-message...
